Coal Creek Canyon Slash Days - June 6th/7th - 8:30a.m-4p.m.
There is only one weekend of slash days this year. Given the large storm we had it is likely to be one which many of us will utilize. Here is some information about the event:
Dates: June 6th and June 7th 2009.
Times: 8:30 a.m. until 4:00p.m.
Location: Fire Station #2 - Hwy 72 & Camp Eden Road.
- Tree branches, bushes are the main goal for this slash collection. (The pile will be chipped immediately after collection.)
- Pine needles are allowed (so long as dumped out of any containing garbage sacks.)
- No stumps (unless chopped up into smaller pieces.)
- Log sizes should be (roughly) no larger than 8 foot long and 6 inches in diameter.
- Absolutely no trash, and no commercial dumping.
- If (say) you heat your home with wood and would like to take home logs that others have dumped, that is fine.
- There is no problem with actively beetle infested wood (since the wood will be immediately chipped.)
