Keepers of the Feather of Hope
Fairy Lore says that Brownies are the keepers of the Feather of Hope, which is the means by which all hope on Earth is replenished and distributed. Brownies ride on birds and animals to travel and carry out their job of spreading hope.
Our Coal Creek Canyon Brownies have been very busy on a journey to build confidence through understanding our individual talents, our values, and how our relationships in our community are connected to who we are. We have been able to develop new talents, improve on talents and have a lot of fun with new experiences along the way. The next few months we will be working on our job of spreading hope through service. We’ll keep you updated about all that in the spring. For now, we are hoping to sell enough cookies to all experience camp and learning or improving our talent to ride animals while we do our work (probably not birds though). We hope to be seeing you at the Pancake Breakfast on Valentines Day. We’ll be there and at the Chili Fest. We will be at Kwik Mart on the morning of the 21st. Cookies cost 3.25 a box and if you’re on a diet, you can donate it to the Samaritan House (a Catholic Charity Family Based Short Term Homeless Shelter in Denver that also takes Veterans) or a Soldier in Iraq/Afghanistan.
We would like to thank the Mountain Phoenix Community School for accepting service for rent of our meeting space. We look forward to joining with you to make our community a better place.
We also have a big THANK YOU for the Artisan Guild for allowing us to provide gift wrapping service at the Holiday show. Special Thanks to all those who generously purchased peanut brittle and gift wrapping. This project gave us hope for future fundraising projects and community action projects yet to come this year.
